​I have lived my entire life in the company of dogs and with the recent addition of a puppy to my family, I began endlessly searching for an all-natural treat that was high in protein, full of superfood ingredients and sourced locally, but my efforts continuously came up short. So, I shifted gears and began researching ingredients that offered the greatest health benefits to dogs. My treat-finding-frustration, coupled with my research and obsession with baking, soon led to experimentation in the kitchen, working to create my own recipe. I sought out the guidance of a canine veterinary nutritionist, and after some trial and error, Local Hound–Treats & Topper came to fruition. Using all-natural, nutrient-dense ingredients, fresh from local, small family farms, I not only solved my own quest for healthy dog treats, but developed a recipe that I am able to share as a nutritious option with others who care deeply about the health of their dogs. After all, when we know better, we do better and we certainly know the difference that nutrition makes in the life of a dog.  Local Hound’s mission is to raise the bar of canine nutrition and give dogs exactly what they deserve – the benefit of local, fresh, all-natural quality ingredients. ​​ ​​
